Educational Philosophy

We train midwives rich in both humanity and practical skills able to contribute to the welfare, maternal and child health, and medical care in Miyazaki.

Educational Purpose

The program aims to develop human resources with a rich humanity based on the sanctity of life, the cooperation to work and collaborate with other professions, and in-depth and advanced professional knowledge and skills. As midwives, graduates will contribute to the improvement of medicine, welfare, health, and maternal and child health as well as to the development of midwifery science.

Educational Objectives

  1. Develop the ability to diagnose and care for pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and newborns, as well as develop the professional judgment and practical skills to respond appropriately in the event of an abnormality.
  2. Cultivate the ability to acquire and practice advanced specialized knowledge and skills to provide ongoing support to women throughout their lives.
  3. Nurture the ability to provide support for health maintenance and promotion based on the lives of mothers, children, and families in order to improve community, maternal, and child health care.
  4. Foster the ability to cooperate, coordinate, and collaborate with specialists in fields related to maternal and child health, medical care, and welfare.
  5. Instill a rich sensitivity for understanding based on a foundation of ethics as a midwife and the ability to form interpersonal relationships.
  6. Develop the ability for constant improvement as a midwife and to contribute to the development of midwifery.
